p.1
The provision is good
The childminder provides a warm, caring and stimulating environment where children are happy, settled and eager to learn. Strong and secure relationships help children to feel safe and confident. As a result, they develop resilience and show positive attitudes towards learning.
p.2
The provision is good
The curriculum is broad and ambitious. The childminder uses everyday routines skilfully to embed learning. For example, during tidy-up time, she encourages children to count and sort toys by colour, which reinforces early mathematical skills in meaningful ways. Children's language is supported well through role play. For instance, when they pretend to make tea or visit the shop, the childminder extends their play by asking open questions and linking conversations to real-life experiences. These interactions support both imagination and communication.
p.2
The provision is good
Children behave well and show respect for others. They are encouraged to be kind, share and take turns. The childminder uses praise effectively to celebrate children's efforts, which builds their confidence and self-esteem. Routines are well established and children respond positively, such as by joining in enthusiastically with tidy-up songs. Children enjoy their play and show motivation to learn.
p.2
need to do better?
n The curriculum is implemented in small, achievable steps. This helps children to learn and remember more over time. The childminder assesses children's progress carefully from their unique starting points and plans next steps effectively. She adapts activities to ensure that all children make good progress in their learning. However, at times during adult-led activities, she does not fully take account of children's interests. As a result, some children lose concentration and become distracted. n The childminder provides a language-rich environment. She narrates children's play, engages in back-and-forth conversations and introduces a wide range of vocabulary. However, she does not always support children effectively when they mispronounce words. This means opportunities are sometimes missed to extend their communication skills even further. n Children's physical development is promoted effectively. They enjoy daily walks

in the local community and benefit from access to a large, well-resourced garden. These opportunities allow children to run, climb and explore in the fresh air, which builds their strength, coordination and confidence in managing risks. n Children's personal and social development is supported well. They take part in a range of play experiences with other childminders, such as music and movement sessions and local playgroups. These opportunities help children to develop early friendships.
p.2
need to do better?
17 September 2025 n The childminder promotes children's independence effectively. Everyday routines, such as handwashing and mealtimes, are used to build children's confidence in managing their personal care. Older children take responsibility for tidying up and know where to find resources. These experiences prepare them well for the next stages in their learning. n Children learn about diversity and different cultural celebrations through activities and resources such as food tasting, dual-language books and culturally positive stories. This helps them to build an understanding of cultures beyond their own. n The childminder knows how important it is to keep developing her own skills. She keeps up to date through reading, online training and working closely with other childminders and professionals. The childminder attends regular face-to- face training to keep her knowledge and skills up to date. Recent safeguarding

Parents speak positively about the childminder's warm interactions and the individual attention she gives to their children. They receive regular updates, including photos and progress checks for children aged two. Parents comment on the good progress their children make, particularly in developing confidence and independence.
