There is currently no registered manager at the home. Since the assurance inspection, a new interim manager has been appointed and is applying to register with Ofsted.
p.1
This monitoring visit
This visit was carried out following an assurance inspection on 22 July 2025, which identified serious and widespread concerns.
p.1
This monitoring visit
The purpose of this visit was to assess whether the compliance notices issued under regulations 12, 13 and 14 have been met. This involves ensuring that leaders have taken sufficient action since the assurance inspection to safeguard children and confirming that the leadership and management arrangements are adequate. In addition, children’s care and the home environment were reviewed.
p.1
This monitoring visit
Since the assurance inspection, leaders and managers have taken meaningful steps to improve the quality of care and safeguarding arrangements. Of the three compliance notices issued, two have been met. The compliance notice under regulation 12 has been reissued. No further breaches of regulation were identified during this visit, and no additional requirements have been made. Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2763903 2 Staff now have access to detailed care plans that guide their practice effectively. Risk assessments are thorough and regularly reviewed. There is clear oversight of the child’s self-harm reduction strategy, which includes access to a jar containing pieces of glass. While this strategy is unconventional, it is subject to regular review and monitoring.
p.1
This monitoring visit
Staff have received clear guidance on safeguarding procedures, which has led to improved understanding and practice. Since the previous inspection, there have been no further incidents of the child going missing from the home, and the frequency of safeguarding incidents has reduced. The home environment has undergone improvements and is now in good repair.
p.2
This monitoring visit
Oversight by leaders and managers has improved. The appointment of a new manager and regular visits from senior leaders have contributed to a more supportive working environment and improved staff morale.
p.2
This monitoring visit
The response to a serious allegation made by a child against a member of staff was poor. The manager failed to discuss the allegation with the child and did not hold individual discussions with all staff members involved. Records of the manager’s actions are unclear and contain inaccuracies, including incorrect dates and details of who was spoken to. This poor response has contributed to the child continuing to feel unsafe and unheard in the home.
p.2
This monitoring visit
Despite significant progress in several areas, particularly safeguarding practice and staff support, the response to serious allegations remains a concern. Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2763903 3
