p.1

This monitoring visit

A full inspection was completed on 17 and 18 June 2025, and the home was judged as inadequate. Serious shortfalls were found in safeguarding practice and in the leadership and management arrangements at the home.

p.1

This monitoring visit

As a result, Ofsted made the decision to suspend the accommodation under section 20B of the Care Standards Act 2000. Compliance notices under regulation 13, the leadership and management standard, and regulation 14, the care planning standard, were issued.

p.1

This monitoring visit

A monitoring visit was completed on 4 August 2025 to monitor the suspension notice and any action taken by the provider to meet the steps identified in the compliance notices. The provider had taken action to meet the steps identified in the compliance notice under regulation 14. However, sufficient action had not been made to meet the steps under regulation 13, the leadership and management standard. Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2694962 2 A newly recruited manager remains in place and has applied to register. The proposed responsible individual is in post and has completed a suitability assessment.

The manager and responsible individual are aware of the previous shortfalls and have focused on embedding changes to ensure that improvements are made to the quality of care for children.

p.2

This monitoring visit

The provider has now recruited sufficient staff to meet the needs of the children that the home is registered for. Newly recruited staff are due to complete the induction and training provided by the company.

Existing staff have been supported to develop their experience and skills and have continued to work in the provider’s other homes. The manager has completed observations of the staff and identified any areas for development. The staff have been appropriately supervised by the manager.

p.2

This monitoring visit

The staff have completed further training in relation to their roles and responsibilities and safeguarding practice. Staff have reflected on previous incidents which have taken place in the home. This reflection has helped staff to identify shortfalls in their practice and build their skills and knowledge in relation to effective safeguarding practice.

p.2

Senior managers have continued to have oversight of the home and embed improved auditing systems. The provider has made changes to the care planning processes and plans to utilise the revised systems when considering placements for children moving into the home.
