p.1

Information about this children’s home

At the time of the visit, three children were living at the home. Two of the children were present during the visit and shared their views with the inspector.

p.1

This monitoring visit

This home was judged as inadequate at a full inspection on 29 and 30 July 2025. Compliance notices issued under regulations 12 and 13 of The Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 due to inspectors identifying serious and widespread shortfalls in safeguarding practices and leadership and management.

p.1

This monitoring visit

This visit was carried out to review the action taken by the provider to meet the steps in the compliance notices.

p.1

This monitoring visit

Leaders and managers have implemented a structured action plan to help drive standards forward and address the shortfalls identified at the last inspection. This has been kept under regular review and demonstrates clear actions managers are taking to drive improvement. This includes additional training and upskilling of staff, improved managers’ monitoring tools and a review of care planning documents for children. Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2673408 2 Leaders and managers have improved safety planning for children. Each child now has a clear and detailed safety plan in place. These are underpinned by staff training, clinical assessments, and the child’s preferred methods of support. Risk reduction strategies are tailored to individual needs, demonstrating a personalised, proactive approach. Managers have introduced physical intervention profiles for each child. This reflects a child-focused ethos.

p.1

This monitoring visit

Staff have received targeted training to strengthen safeguarding practice and improve outcomes for children. Recent training has included topics such as professional curiosity, effective recording and reporting, internet safety and risk assessment. This investment in professional development has enhanced staff’s confidence and competence in managing risk and has contributed to improved day- to-day practice.

p.2

This monitoring visit

Children are helped to understand and manage risk. Staff provide access to online learning resources, and all children have completed a course on online safety. These sessions are complemented by regular key-work discussions, which reinforce learning and provide opportunities for children to explore their concerns in a safe and supportive environment. As a result, children are increasingly confident in sharing their concerns with trusted adults and are developing the knowledge and skills to keep themselves safe.

p.2

This monitoring visit

Staff promote positive peer relationships for children. They have carried out targeted work with children to help them understand a peer’s diagnosis, which has led to increased empathy and improved social interactions. Children are now more considerate and inclusive in their relationships. Staff have also adjusted children’s monthly meetings, ensuring that group activities are planned to reflect the interests and needs of all children. This inclusive approach has enhanced engagement and strengthened the sense of community in the home.

p.2

This monitoring visit

Leaders and managers have implemented a system to record safeguarding advice provided during out-of-hours incidents. This practice has significantly enhanced decision-making transparency by clearly documenting the rationale behind each piece of advice. As a result, oversight of safeguarding events has been strengthened, promoting accountability and consistency in safeguarding responses.

p.2

This monitoring visit

Following this visit, a case review was held. This determined that sufficient action has been taken to address the steps in the compliance notices, and as a result, no further enforcement action is required. The other requirement and recommendation raised at the full inspection were not reviewed, and so they remain in place. Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2673408 3
