Leaders purposefully prioritise fun and friendships to allow children the freedom to join in organised activities or follow their own ideas. This has a positive effect on children's well-being. Staff make positive relationships with children and support them to settle and make friends. This is especially effective for the youngest children and those who are new to the holiday club.

They encourage children to look after each other and to discuss what the rules should be to keep everyone safe.
