The provision is good
Children feel happy, confident and secure in this calm and home-from-home environment. The childminder promotes children's communication, social skills and early mathematical understanding through interactive play. Children enjoy exploring animals in a large tray together. They sift sand and cornflakes, while developing their communication and social skills by playing and sharing toys. The childminder uses descriptive words and numbers to help children to identify the toy animals. Children count and compare how many animals there are and discuss their sizes. The childminder encourages children to repeat and use words and connect them in their play. This approach supports children to use language more confidently. The childminder places an emphasis in her curriculum on active learning, social development and preparing children for their future education.

The provision is good
The childminder works with parents and carers to meet individual children's needs. For example, the childminder supports children with specific needs by collaborating with teachers, using British Sign Language and joining weekly groups. This inclusive approach strengthens children's individual learning outcomes. The childminder consistently cares for children and respects them. She offers children a range of opportunities to enjoy childhood while developing a broader understanding of the world. As a result of the childminder's support, children display curiosity, confidence and strong social skills. This prepares them effectively for their next stages of learning.

childminder's reliable and supportive approach, which enhances children's well- being and development n Overall, the childminder delivers a well-rounded curriculum that meets the needs of all children. However, at times, the childminder plans so many play opportunities and activities that children become distracted and move quickly from one option to another. This abundance of choices, though well-intentioned, means children's concentration drifts. As a result, children do not focus on the planned learning, and the childminder cannot fully support their next steps in learning. n The childminder demonstrates a good understanding of early years education and safeguarding. She demonstrates a commitment to continuous professional development. This helps the childminder to continually enhance her practice.
