Inspection report for children’s home – monitoring visit: 2807523 1 Registered provider: Care to Success Ltd
p.1
Inspected under the social care common inspection framework
p.1
Information about this children’s home
This home is privately owned and provides care for up to three children with social and emotional difficulties. The home was registered with Ofsted in February 2025.
p.1
Information about this children’s home
The registered manager and responsible individual were present throughout the visit.
p.1
This monitoring visit
At the full inspection conducted on 17 and 18 June 2025, this children’s home was judged to be inadequate. Following the inspection, no restrictions were imposed, as leaders provided assurance that no further children would be admitted to the home until after the next full inspection. The purpose of this monitoring visit was to evaluate the care being provided to the two children currently living in the home and to assess the actions taken by leaders and the manager to address the shortfalls identified during the previous inspection.
p.1
This monitoring visit
Since the last inspection, leaders have adhered to the agreement not to admit a third child. Care planning will be subject to a full review at the next inspection. The two children residing in the home are settled and making progress from their individual starting points.
p.1
This monitoring visit
During the visit, the manager and responsible individual presented an action plan outlining the steps being taken to meet the requirements raised at the full inspection. While some improvements have been implemented, the majority of actions remain ongoing.
p.1
This monitoring visit
The manager has recognised the need for all staff to receive training on how children’s care plans align with the home’s statement of purpose. Additional training Inspection report for children’s home – monitoring visit: 2807523 2 has been identified to support staff in meeting children’s specific needs, including those related to substance and alcohol misuse and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). This training has commenced for some staff members. A review of risks within children’s bedrooms has been undertaken; however, changes to the blinds have not yet been completed.
p.1
This monitoring visit
There have been no incidents of children going missing from the home. Staff have developed positive relationships with key adults, including the parent of one child’s boyfriend. This has enabled staff to maintain better oversight of the child’s whereabouts and activities, including incidents that have occurred while the child was outside the home. The local police community support officer has visited the home to establish a positive link with staff.
p.2
This monitoring visit
Leaders and managers have increased their monitoring of the home since the inspection. The manager has implemented monitoring systems discussed during the previous visit. A weekly report has been introduced to document monitoring activities undertaken jointly by the registered manager and the responsible individual. This provides additional oversight and helps ensure that shortfalls are identified and addressed promptly.
p.2
This monitoring visit
Children living in the home have benefited from the manager’s advocacy, which has led to positive outcomes. For example, when one child’s school refused to allow them to attend their prom due to previous behavioural incidents, the manager challenged the decision. As a result, the decision was overturned, and the child was able to attend the event.
p.2
This monitoring visit
Two serious incidents involving children have occurred since the last inspection, both of which met the threshold for notifying Ofsted. Although there was a delay in the manager being informed of these incidents, notifications were subsequently made in a timely manner.
p.2
This monitoring visit
All requirements under the relevant regulations will remain in place and will be reviewed at the next full inspection. Inspection report for children’s home – monitoring visit: 2807523 3
