The provision requires improvement
Leaders are aware of some of the improvements required to raise the quality of education provided for children. Due to a number of staff changes, the leadership team have not provided staff with effective support and coaching to enable them to fully understand their roles and responsibilities, or those of others. Leaders have not ensured that all staff working with children are familiar with their individual needs. Along with changes to staffing, this has an impact on how settled and secure children feel at the setting.
p.2
The provision requires improvement
Despite these weaknesses, provision is in place to monitor children's progress and any delays in children's learning are identified. Referrals are made to other agencies where needed and staff are aware of children with special educational needs and/or disabilities and those who speak English as an additional language.
p.2
The provision requires improvement
Overall, children engage well during play. Children use their imagination and play well with others. For example, children talk to others about how their pretend bus has broken down and needs fixing. Babies begin to role play as they rock dolls in their arms and pretend they are putting them to sleep. Children concentrate as they find the right piece to complete a jigsaw. Behaviour is supported well and staff introduce children to 'Marvin the monkey' who helps reinforce the rules. They use this incentive to support children to learn to walk indoors and to use their listening ears.

need to do better?
n There have been some recent changes to the leadership team for the nursery and they are currently recruiting new staff. Due to these very recent changes, leaders have yet to implement effective support and coaching for all staff. This means that staff do not always know what is their responsibility, or that of others. This has an impact on how well they carry out their role and their understanding of who they can go to for support and guidance. n The key-person system is not yet embedded. For example, not all staff know about the individual needs of children. This means children's care is not tailored to support them. At times, staff do not take into account children's individual need for sleep or rest, instead prioritising general daily routines. Some children have not built a secure relationship with staff yet. This means some children, particularly those who are younger, are not fully settled. n Overall, parents feel happy with the nursery and report the staff are friendly.
p.2
need to do better?
However, they are not aware of some of the recent changes to staff or who their child's key person is. In addition, parents do not know how the curriculum is being delivered or how they can support their child's learning further at home. This means children do not fully benefit from extending their learning at home.

need to do better?
5 August 2025 n Children's physical development is well supported. For example, staff encourage babies to crawl through tunnels and pull themselves up to standing. Older children practise riding scooters in the garden and develop their spatial awareness as they ride around wooden blocks that staff position outdoors. Staff smile at children and them give them a thumbs up when they succeed. n Staff help to promote children's independence and meet their care needs. For example, staff remind older children they need to wash their hands after using the toilet. They help babies to use their own spoon to feed themselves and warmly praise them for their efforts. n Children are provided with home-cooked meals and children's allergies are catered for. Staff sit with children at mealtimes and encourage good manners. Staff talk to children about the foods they eat and support their awareness of healthy eating. n Leaders encourage staff to promote books and rhymes as part of the curriculum

and staff read stories to children throughout the day. For example, staff encourage babies to feel the different textures in books. However, staff are not always clear on the specific skills they want children to learn or how to build on what children already know. This means they do not consistently focus their teaching on targeting children's specific next steps in learning. n Staff promote children's language and encourage interaction to support early conversational skills. For example, as children explore play dough, staff ask them questions about their play and comment on what children do. This helps to encourage children to explore and play with others.
