p.1

This provision meets requirements

Children demonstrate they feel happy, safe and comfortable in this inclusive holiday club. Staff engage with children attentively and enthusiastically, showing a true interest as children contribute their ideas and share home experiences. Strong, trusting and secure relationships between staff and children are clearly evident. Children who are initially a little apprehensive, quickly gain the confidence to seek help and reassurance from staff. Older children mirror staff's caring and compassionate approach by inviting younger ones into their play and offering encouragement and support. This nurturing environment promotes children's emotional well-being.

p.2

This provision meets requirements

Children form meaningful relationships and clearly enjoy being part of a welcoming, engaging club. Staff place high value on taking children's suggestions on board. They actively incorporate children's ideas and interests when interacting with them through a range of enriching activities. For instance, children eagerly participate in a variety of team games, such as relay races, handball and benchball, as well as themed creative play, such as making telescopes linked to a 'pirates' topic. This approach fosters a strong sense of belonging in children.

n There is a strong emphasis on promoting children's health and well-being. Staff provide ample opportunities for physical activity, where they encourage children's active play and healthy lifestyles. They support children to practise and improve their skills, such as hopping and skipping across the hall. Older children offer more challenging ideas to travel and show younger children the best techniques to use. During snack and lunchtime, staff engage children in meaningful discussions about the importance of drinking water and making healthy food choices. Children learn, for example, that drinking a recommended amount of water each day positively impacts their bodies. n Staff provide opportunities for children to develop their creativity in fun ways. Leaders and staff acknowledge that these types of activities help them to know more about children's unique personalities. For example, during a 'pirates'

theme, children follow staff's step-by-step instructions to make a cylindrical shape for a telescope. They cut up transparent plastic cups to act as lenses. Children then personalise their creations by adding 'treasure' or extra lenses.

31 July 2025 Staff consistently praise children's efforts, which makes children feel proud and keen to share their creations with others. n The atmosphere is joyful and lively, filled with laughter and shared enthusiasm. Children thoroughly enjoy the freedom to explore their own interests, which staff skilfully extend. For instance, those children fascinated by minibeasts are encouraged to count spots on ladybirds. This sparks a 'scavenger hunt' in the school field. More children eagerly join in, as they tread carefully looking for more ladybirds and other insects. These experiences help to deepen children's understanding of nature through play. n The holiday club is inclusive and responsive to the needs of all children. Staff ensure that those requiring additional assistance, including the youngest children and those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, receive tailored support. They gather detailed information from parents to help each child settle

and succeed. Feedback is shared with parents at the end of the day, which highlights the activities children have taken part in and how they have been. On collection, children also share their own positive experiences with their parents and look forward to returning. n Staff support children to develop their independence skills. Children confidently manage their personal care routines, such as washing their hands before mealtimes and after using the toilet. At various points in the day, children freely select their preferred activities. They show a clear awareness of their responsibilities, such as when they help themselves to sips of water to stay hydrated or take time out to relax after exercise. n Senior leaders from the company provide effective support to the staff team. They regularly visit the holiday club to monitor the quality of care and offer constructive feedback, which contributes to a culture of continuous

improvement. Staff benefit from a robust induction when they join the club, which helps them understand routines, expectations and how best to support children. Ongoing training opportunities ensure staff continue to build on their knowledge and skills, which in turn helps to promote even more positive experiences for children.
