This provision does not meet requirements
There are breaches to the requirements of registration that compromise children's safety and welfare. The childminder does not ensure that she acts on safeguarding concerns appropriately and she does not gather appropriate information from parents. Furthermore, she also does not ensure that any assistants who work with her understand their roles and responsibilities. This does not ensure that children's needs are met.
p.2
This provision does not meet requirements
Children's behaviour is variable. The childminder responds promptly when she recognises that they need support. She also encourages children to modify their behaviour. This includes talking to children and reminding them of particular rules about how to use the equipment. However, children's needs are not consistently met well, which impacts negatively on their behaviour.

In spite of this, children overall enjoy their time at the childminder's house. They choose from the range of activities and experiences that the childminder plans for them. This includes taking part in 'egg and spoon' races in the garden with their friends. Children confidently share their achievements with the childminder, such as when they manage to complete a task for themselves. This helps children to learn to solve problems independently.
p.2
need to do better?
n Although the childminder understands the procedures she must follow if she has any safeguarding concerns, she does not implement this in practice. She does not identify when children may be at risk of harm. As a result, she does not ensure that safeguarding concerns are reported in line with the local safeguarding partnership. Additionally, the childminder has not ensured that assistants have a secure understanding of the agencies they must report any safeguarding concerns to. This does not help to keep children safe. n The childminder works with assistants. They report that they enjoy working with her. The childminder provides any assistants she employs with an induction when they first start with her. However, she does not offer further coaching, training and support that helps to build on their professional development. She does not make sure that assistants fully understand their roles and responsibilities. For example, she does not give her assistants the information

they need about children in order to provide them with effective help and support. n The childminder does not ensure that she gathers appropriate information from parents about their children. For instance, she does not ask parents to share whether there are any other agencies involved in children's care and learning.

need to do better?
23 June 2025 This does not enable the childminder to be fully informed so that she can ensure that her provision continues to meet children's needs. n The childminder failed to notify Ofsted of relevant changes, which is a requirement of her registration. Following discussion, she now understands what she must tell Ofsted about in the future. n Although there are weaknesses in the childminder's practice, she has a clear understanding of how she wants to support children during their time with her. She aims to provide opportunities for children to develop their social skills with their friends after a busy day at school. This includes supporting children to take turns and share the resources. As such, she arranges children's spaces so that they can access a variety of different activities where they can build on their interactions with others. For example, children show a good attitude as they spend time building a den in the garden. They enjoy the challenge of completing

the structure. Afterwards, children spend time relaxing in the space they have created and chatting to each other. This helps children to engage with others. n Parents speak highly of the childminder. They report that their children enjoy the variety of activities that the childminder arranges for them, and they develop good friendships with their friends. Parents are provided with relevant information, such as the childminder's policies and procedures. She also shares information with parents about their child's time with her, and their routines. This helps parents to be informed about their child's time with the childminder.
