This provision does not meet requirements

n The childminder does not maintain daily records of attendance, which is a requirement of registration. This compromises children's safety as the childminder is not able to account for children's whereabouts in the event of any incident or issue. n Although the childminder explains that she collects appropriate information from parents when children start attending, on the day of inspection she was unable to locate any of these records. She did have some contact details on her phone, in the event of an emergency. However, failure to have records of information about each child in her care, which are easily accessible to those who have a right to see them, compromises children's safety. n Despite weaknesses in the childminder's record keeping arrangements, she demonstrates a secure knowledge and understanding of how to promote early years children's learning and development. Through discussion, she described

the key skills she promotes to help children to be ready to move on to nursery. This includes helping them to become increasingly independent, confident and able to socialise with other children. n The childminder recognises the importance of promoting children's communication and language skills. She explains how she does this through providing opportunities for children to learn and practise repeating new words. She describes how she uses books, rhymes and songs and takes children to the local library to further support their progress. n The childminder understands her responsibility to monitor children's progress and development. She describes appropriate steps to take if she believes children may need additional support to meet their developmental milestones. n The childminder explains how she promotes children's positive behaviour in ways that are suitable for individual children's ages and stages of development. She

works with parents and any other providers children may attend to ensure consistent approaches are used. n The childminder's home and garden are safe and secure. She carries out appropriate risk assessments when out and about, as well as teaching children about road safety. n The childminder generally promotes children's good health. They know when they must wash their hands, and she ensures children benefit from plenty of fresh air and exercise. However, children are not always offered healthy snack choices. n After school, children of all ages clearly enjoy playing together. They chat about their school day and become fully engaged in the wide variety of activities in the childminder's garden. They clearly know each other well and have formed strong bonds with both the childminder and the other children who attend.

This provision does not meet requirements

23 June 2025 There were no children in the early years age range present when this inspection took place. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with those who care for the children and an inspection of the premises, equipment and relevant documentation. Where there are no early years children present, no judgement is made on the quality of the early years provision as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess its impact on children. The report states whether the provider continues to meet the requirements of registration.
