p.1

p.1

Information about this children’s home

This is a private children’s home registered for up to three children who may have social and emotional difficulties.

p.1

Information about this children’s home

The registered manager left his role in April 2025 due to unforeseen circumstances. An interim manager had applied to register with Ofsted but withdrew his application. A manager, who is registered for another home is currently overseeing the home and has applied to be a dual manager.

p.1

Information about this children’s home

At the time of the inspection, one child was living in the home. The child spoke to the inspector about their experiences living in the home.

p.1

This monitoring visit

A full inspection was conducted on 30 April and 1 May 2025, where inspectors identified serious concerns in relation to the protection of children and the leadership and management of the centre. Ofsted served two compliance notices under regulation 12, the protection of children standard and regulation 13, the leadership and management standard. A restriction of accommodation notice was also served with immediate effect from the 2 May 2025 until 25 July 2025 inclusively.

p.1

This monitoring visit

On 22 May 2025, Ofsted carried out a visit to monitor the compliance notices. The provider had acted to meet all the steps in both compliance notices.

p.1

This monitoring visit

This visit was to monitor the restriction of accommodation notice. The provider has complied with the restriction of accommodation notice, as no children have moved into the home.

p.1

This monitoring visit

Significant progress has been made in strengthening management arrangements, enhancing oversight, and placing a clear emphasis on safeguarding practices. Inspection report for children’s home – monitoring visit: 2776999 2 The child’s experience of care has notably improved. They are now more settled and content within their home environment. The provider demonstrates a strong commitment to supporting the child and is working collaboratively with the placing authority to ensure a thoughtfully planned transition to adulthood. Efforts are being made to identify additional support tailored to the child’s unique needs.

p.1

This monitoring visit

Leaders and managers recognise that the introduction of new children into the home requires careful care planning to consider the potential impact on the child already living there. This approach is essential to ensure that the child continues to receive consistent, well-rounded support throughout their time in the home.

p.2

This monitoring visit

Risks to the child have reduced considerably. This is because the staff team has an improved understanding of the child’s risks and behaviours and their roles and responsibilities to keep the child safe. The manager has taken proactive steps to ensure that all staff are trained in essential areas, including ligature awareness, self- injury response, and accurate reporting and recording. Clear expectations around safeguarding practices are set, and important updates, such as any changes to the child’s safety place are communicated to the staff team.

p.2

This monitoring visit

There has been no use of ligatures and self-injury incidents have significantly reduced. Staff understand how to respond to the child if they self-injure and they use effective strategies to reduce ligature risks. Staff consistently follow the child’s safety plan, including completing timely welfare checks and room searches when required.

p.2

This monitoring visit

The manager has oversight of all risk plans and incident records, to ensure that the staff team understands the triggers to the child’s behaviour. Alongside the child’s social worker, the manager has monitored the frequency of welfare checks to ensure that they are appropriate to the level of risk and has reduced them as the child has built up trust and made safer choices.

p.2

This monitoring visit

Since the last inspection, there have been no incidents of missing from the home. Staff understand missing-from-home protocols. The manager has introduced a guide for staff to follow should children be at risk of going missing from the home. Staff have conducted fire safety work with the child to educate them about any associated risks and consequences. Consequently, there has been no incidents relating to fire setting.

p.2

This monitoring visit

The home’s management arrangements are now both effective and stable. Oversight and monitoring of children’s safety and the day-to-day running of the home have improved. Social workers and staff have reported noticeable progress in the home’s organisation under the current manager’s leadership.
