Summary of outcome
All early years providers must meet the legal requirements in the 'Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage', which you can find at www.gov.uk/government/publications/early-years-foundation-stage-framework--2 If we find that a provider is not meeting the requirements, we can take action to ensure they put matters right.
p.1
Summary of outcome
On 6 November 2024, the childminder notified us about a proposed change to their working hours to include the provision of overnight care. This notification means that the childminder has met their legal responsibility as set out in the early years foundation stage welfare requirements to notify Ofsted about significant changes under the requirements of Information and record keeping.
p.1
Summary of outcome
On 29 November 2024, we carried out a regulatory visit. We found the childminder had suitable facilities to provide overnight care. This included appropriate bedding and cots for very young children. The childminder demonstrated a secure awareness of safe sleeping arrangements. She also had appropriate systems to ensure that children would be in hearing at all times.
p.1
Summary of outcome
During the visit, we found the childminder did not have procedures to ensure assistants, who have sole care of children, hold paediatric first-aid certificates. Additionally, the childminder had employed a new assistant, who was included in the ratios. The childminder did not notify Ofsted about this change. This is a requirement of their registration. The childminder will be able to give parents further information about this.
p.1
Summary of outcome
n ensure at least one person who has a current paediatric first-aid certificate is on the premises and available at all times when children are present
p.1
Summary of outcome
n ensure assistants are deemed suitable by Ofsted before they are included in ratios.
p.1
Summary of outcome
We are satisfied the childminder has met the actions. The childminder is still registered with Ofsted.
