This monitoring visit
A monitoring visit was carried out on 30 April 2025 to review the progress made to meet the steps of the compliance notice issued under regulation 13, the leadership and management standard. Ofsted found that the provider had not taken sufficient steps to meet all the compliance notice steps. Therefore, one step was restated.

This monitoring visit
The systems to monitor the health and safety of the home environment are not effective. There have been no improvements made since the last visit. For example, broken kitchen tiles, damaged walls and blinds and broken bedroom furniture remain in the home. There have been no improvements to the cleanliness of the home, which includes unclean floors and furniture. This does not provide a safe and nurturing environment for children.
p.2
This monitoring visit
The enclosed garden includes furniture and toys for children to enjoy. However, the area is hazardous due to unfinished work. The provider does not have any timescales or plans for the improvements in the home to be completed.
p.2
This monitoring visit
The processes to recruit a manager are not effective. Attempts to recruit a manager have not resulted in any applications for the position. This means that there is no day-to-day management oversight of the home. The provider does not have any alternative plans to recruit a manager.

The registered person should ensure that staff record information on individual children in a non-stigmatising way. Information about the child must always be recorded in a way that will be helpful to the child. (‘Guide to the Children’s Homes Regulations, including the quality standards,’ page 62, paragraph 14.4) The registered person should ensure that any individual appointed to carry out visits to the home as an independent person makes a rigorous and impartial assessment of the home’s arrangements for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. In particular, ensure that professionals and family members are consulted and that feedback is obtained from them.
