This provision meets requirements
Staff conscientiously set out interesting activities ready for children's arrival after school. Children quickly engage with these. They also show their confidence as they select additional resources that are easily accessible, following their interests well. They draw and colour pictures with great care, spending lots of time doing this, discussing their aims and the colours needed. Staff thoughtfully support children further, looking up pictures of characters so children can check they have the right colours. They give them tips for their success, such as when they are tracing pictures and children hold them up to the window to see the outline better.

This provision meets requirements
Children have good relationships with staff. They enter the club, chatting happily to staff about their day. Children enjoy the social opportunities at the club, spending time with their friends at different activities. Staff thoughtfully join children in their play, noticing when children are playing alone and children enjoy their company. They have lots of fun playing card and board games. Children enjoy the opportunity to explore different areas. The club has access to outdoor areas, and children enjoy the additional space in the hall, running around and being active.

need to do better?
n Children have plenty of things to keep them busy. Staff know children well and link closely to their interests, getting out different resources. They thoughtfully ensure that they continue to offer activities and successfully keep children happy throughout the session. For example, children enjoy making dough with staff later in the day when it is quieter. They work together to mix ingredients. Staff take time to encourage children to think through what they need. Children relish this challenge, assessing the consistency and working with staff to add extra flour or water. n Staff work to involve children in club life. They inspire children well at times. Children take responsibility for their belongings. They help pack up and tidy resources away ready for their move from the classroom to the hall, thoughtfully helping staff to carry items. However, staff struggle at other times to encourage children's sense of responsibility fully, such as cleaning up after painting.

need to do better?
Additionally, staff support children's independence and set out snack for children to help themselves. When they have a venue change and have snack in the classroom, children walk around and play while eating. Staff offer some reminders to encourage children to sit down on a chair, but they are not always successful, and their arrangements do not help children to manage this independently. n Staff work in partnership with parents, gaining information about children's needs, to help them get to know children and support them at the club. They

need to do better?
20 May 2025 liaise effectively with teachers and staff at the school to ensure messages and arrangements are passed on and children are supported consistently. Parents are complimentary about the club and say children enjoy attending and get on so well with staff. n Staff give reminders to children on suitable practices to help keep them safe. Staff take the time to make sure children understand the rules of games and take turns. At times, they offer useful support for children to appreciate the implications of their actions and effective strategies to help them regulate their emotions. However, at other times staff do not promptly manage children's exuberant behaviour and help children consider other children's needs and interact appropriately. This distracts and disrupts the group from their games and play. n Leaders follow suitable company procedures to lead practice at the club. Staff complete mandatory training to help maintain their knowledge and suitable
