The provision requires improvement
Some of the improvements required at the last inspection have been made. However, there continue to be areas of the provision that need improvement. This is because the newly written curriculum for children's learning is not yet understood and embedded by staff in the way that it was intended. Not all documentation and records are consistently completed to fully support all staff to understand the duties and responsibilities to fulfil. That said, the arrangements for fire safety and evacuation are now improved, and staff have an improved knowledge and understanding of child protection matters and the local reporting procedures to report concerns about the welfare of children when required.
p.2
The provision requires improvement
Children are happy and settled well into this nursery. They build close relationships with staff who greet them with kindness and warmth on arrival. They enjoy some activities with staff. For example, discovering what they can see through their magnifying glasses. Children are proud to name the colours, such as 'blue' and 'white', that they see in their tray. Children behave well. At times, staff remind children to use their good manners. Children listen to staff reminders to be kind and careful. Children gain some of the skills and understanding they need to prepare them for the next stage of their learning and their move on to school.

need to do better?
n A comprehensive curriculum has been designed to meet the learning needs of children attending. However, there has not yet been sufficient time for staff to understand how to deliver the curriculum and what they need to teach children when and why. Some staff provide little interaction during play and routines. For example, during snack times, children do not receive effective support to develop and practise their self-help skills. n Managers ensure that staff now have time to discuss their professional development. However, staff do not have clearly defined roles and responsibilities to help them know and understand what is expected of them. Not all documentation is appropriately completed for new staff to ensure they are fully supported with the information required to fulfil their roles effectively. n Documentation to record children's attendance is generally completed. However, the times of arrival and departure are not consistently recorded accurately.
p.2
need to do better?
n Leaders have failed to inform Ofsted of changes to the overall leadership of the setting within the required timescales, which is an offence. However, because the leader is known to Ofsted, the required suitability checks have been completed by Ofsted. This means there is no impact on children's safety. n Communication and language is promoted well by some staff through story reading and two-way conversation during play. Some staff use clear speech and model correct sentence structure for children to hear. They introduce new words

7 May 2025 in context during play, such as 'magnifying glass' and 'glitter', which helps to build on children's increasing vocabulary. Most children acquire English as an additional language while attending. Staff support children to continue to use and develop their home languages. n Children develop their physical skills and have fun outdoors. For example, they practise their larger movements while climbing or riding wheeled toys. They explore the marks they make with their fingers in sand and enjoy drawing while they practise their grip in readiness for writing. n Children develop some independence, such as managing their personal care needs and washing their hands before eating and after using the toilet. Children have some opportunities to practise dressing in coats and shoes. n There has been a recent change to the management of the setting. Managers are committed to making continual improvements in the setting and the

provision for children. They intend to include parents' views in their plans for further development. These include the use of additional programmes to further support children's development of speech and language and to work towards an award to help children learn about living a healthy lifestyle. n Parents are happy with the nursery. They say the staff are friendly and kind. They comment particularly on the progress children make with their speaking skills and how much they enjoy attending.
