The provision is good
Children, including those who are new, are happy in the childminder's welcoming and stimulating home. They feel settled and secure and establish close bonds with the childminder, who provides nurturing care. Children develop confidence as they freely explore their surroundings. The childminder plans an exciting and varied indoor and outdoor curriculum, which supports children to make good progress from their starting points. They excitedly choose what they want to play with from a range of accessible and good-quality resources.
p.2
The provision is good
Children snuggle up to the childminder when they want reassurance, and the childminder is quick to respond to their needs. The childminder ensures children's emerging language and communication skills are given high priority. She re- enforces and repeats key words for younger children and introduces new vocabulary. Older children show well developed language skills as they share their favourite book 'Pip and Posy'. They excitedly recall what will happen next in the story and explain that the rabbit has hurt themselves and, therefore, will need a plaster to make it better.
p.2
The provision is good
Children are supported to express their feelings and good manners are encouraged. Children are gently reminded to use toys safely so that others do not get hurt. They are able to understand this concept and change their actions in response.

n The childminder closely monitors children's development and identifies what they need to learn next. She gathers useful information from parents about children's starting points when they initially start attending. She provides helpful guidance to parents about how they can also support children's learning at home, such as working together to support toilet training. n The childminder's passion for outdoor learning ensures that children have a wide range of outdoor learning experiences, where they can explore nature and develop their physical skills, such as climbing and developing coordination. Children regularly attend playgroups where they socialise with their peers, enjoy stories and develop their creativity. n Children are inquisitive learners. They excitedly explore different textures, such as dried corn where they scoop and fill containers. They confidently talk about different vehicles and share their ideas. The childminder supports their
