need to do better?

n Staff support younger children to access the games and activities provided. Younger children benefit from playing alongside older children, who model and support them to participate in games. n Staff use a variety of strategies to support children to display positive behaviours. For example, they praise children who are demonstrating expected behaviours and clearly explain the rules for the club. However, on occasion, staff do not ensure that interactions with younger children are effective for their age and stage of development. At these times, staff explanations about activities are overly long, or waiting times for the next part of the routine are too long. This can lead to some children becoming restless. n Staff support children to develop their independence skills well. For example, at snack time, early years children confidently choose their topping for their bagel and carry it back to their tables. This helps children to build their self-confidence.
