p.1
The provision requires improvement
Leaders have a clear vision to provide good-quality care and education. Although leaders have ensured that staff successfully implement an effective curriculum, some managerial duties have not been fulfilled. For instance, staff are not consistently implementing their own procedures to minimise potential risks to children. Although there are risk assessments in place, there is a lack of oversight from leaders to ensure they are being followed effectively.
p.2
The provision requires improvement
Nonetheless, children show confidence and that they feel safe and secure at this welcoming setting. Staff know children well and provide a range of learning experiences for them to enjoy. Children seek out their friends and settle quickly into play. Interactions between staff and children are nurturing and supportive, which contribute positively to the children's emotional well-being and sense of security.
p.2
The provision requires improvement
Leaders and staff successfully create a curriculum for all children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). Staff provide praise and encouragement during activities, helping to boost the children's self-esteem and motivation. They read and share favourite stories with children as they sit and enjoy looking at and talking about the pictures in the book. This helps children build their communication and language development. Overall, children behave well, demonstrating that their needs are being met.

need to do better?
n The provider recently notified Ofsted of a significant event, showing their clear understanding of appropriate reporting to Ofsted. Risk assessments are in place and are completed daily. Staff have a secure knowledge of safeguarding and understand the need for risk assessment to keep children safe. However, leaders have not ensured that all staff consistently follow risk assessment procedures. As children have been adequately supervised, there has been no impact on their safety on this occasion. n Effective key-person arrangements ensure that children feel secure and receive personalised support. Leaders ensure the key persons are building positive relationships with families and sharing information about children's development. Parents report that their children are happy to come to the nursery and are making progress. They feel the communication about their child's progress at the nursery is effective. However, staff do not always ensure that accidents and

injuries are reported to parents in a timely manner. n Staff support children to become increasingly independent. For example, children skilfully put on their own shoes before going outside. Children follow some established hygiene routines. For instance, they wash their hands before mealtimes and after messy-play activities. However, staff do not consistently

need to do better?
28 March 2025 encourage children to learn simple good hygiene practices, such as wiping their noses. This does not effectively support children to learn how to manage their own personal needs and develop self-care skills. n Children enjoy freshly prepared nutritious meals throughout the day. The on-site cook is familiar with the individual dietary needs of the children to keep them safe. Staff use mealtimes to promote children's independence. However, the organisation of mealtime routines for some children is less well considered. Older children become impatient while waiting for their turn. As a result, children are left waiting for a long time without anything to do and become distracted. n Support for children with SEND is good. Staff identify concerns about children's needs or gaps in their learning. They make swift referrals when needed. All staff work closely with parents and other professionals to ensure children receive the

support they need. Staff know children well and understand their individual needs. As a result, all children make good progress in their learning and development. n Leaders use additional funding, such as early years pupil premium, specifically to support the children it is allocated to. For instance, they purchase climbing equipment to support children with SEND. This works towards narrowing the gap between different groups of children. n Staff teach children how to be considerate towards others. Children learn why some behaviours, such as snatching, are unkind. They learn how to make and keep friends. Staff encourage children to resolve conflicts amicably between each other. As a result, children are prepared well for having secure and respectful relationships with children and adults.
