p.1

Inspected under the social care common inspection framework

p.1

provider

This service is owned and operated by a private provider. The service provides accommodation for up to seven children living in single-occupancy premises and up to seven children living in shared premises that are limited to looked-after children and care leavers. At the time of the visit, three children were being supported by the service.

p.1

provider

The service manager, who is also the nominated individual and the director, registered with Ofsted in December 2023.

p.1

This monitoring visit

On 18 December 2024, Ofsted carried out a monitoring visit and identified significant regulatory breaches concerning the safety and protection of children and the leadership and management and the service. Following the visit, Ofsted issued a notice restricting accommodation to prevent new admissions. In addition, four compliance notices were issued.

p.1

This monitoring visit

On 8 January 2025, Ofsted carried out a monitoring visit to review progress relating to the premises. Some progress was noted, but the compliance notice and the notice restricting accommodation remained in place.

p.1

This monitoring visit

On 18 February 2025, a further monitoring visit was carried out. The outcome of this visit was that the compliance notices relating to the leadership and management standard, the protection standard, and the registered person general requirements were assessed as met. Inspection report for supported accommodation provider - monitoring visit: TD Supported Living Services The purpose of this visit was to monitor compliance with the notice restricting accommodation and to review progress in relation to the compliance notice relating to the standard of accommodation.

p.1

This monitoring visit

No children have been admitted since the last visit. The manager continues to accommodate two children whose needs are beyond the scope of supported accommodation. The manager is working with the local authority to ensure that the needs of these children are met until more suitable placements are identified.

p.2

This monitoring visit

A system for checking the quality of accommodation on a weekly basis and reporting repairs has been implemented. Although there is ongoing work to rectify the problem of mould in the cellar at one property, the introduction of this system has contributed to an overall improvement in the quality of children’s accommodation. In addition, children have been encouraged and supported to make their accommodation more homely.

p.2

This monitoring visit

Suitable action has been taken to address one of the two requirements from the last visit. As a result, recruitment practice is much safer than previously reported. Some progress is noted in relation to the second requirement. The involvement of a consultant to support staff with training enhances staff’s knowledge. However, training that enables staff to help children understand their rights and entitlements remains outstanding.

p.2

This monitoring visit

As a result of the improvements made, Ofsted has lifted the notice restricting accommodation. Inspection report for supported accommodation provider - monitoring visit: TD Supported Living Services
