Summary of outcome
All early years providers must meet the legal requirements in the Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage, which you can find at www.gov.uk/government/publications/early-years-foundation-stage-framework--2. If we find that a provider is not meeting the requirements, we can take action to ensure they put matters right.
p.1
Summary of outcome
On 30 January 2025, we received concerns that the provider was not meeting requirements relating to suitable people; safeguarding policies and procedures; supporting and understanding children's behaviour; special educational needs; staff:child ratios; and key person.
p.1
Summary of outcome
We suspended the provider's registration on 31 January 2025 because we believed children may be at risk of harm. Suspension allows time for the provider to take steps to reduce or eliminate the risk of harm to children. The provider has a right to appeal against a suspension. The provider may not provide childcare for which registration is required while the suspension is in place and may commit an offence if they do so.
p.1
Summary of outcome
On 10 February 2025, we carried out a regulatory visit. We considered the information given during this visit and have determined the grounds for suspension no longer apply because children are no longer at potential risk of harm. We therefore lifted the suspension.
p.1
Summary of outcome
During the regulatory visit, we found the provider was not meeting some of the requirements. We have served a welfare requirements notice. This is a legal notice that requires the provider to take the actions below within the timescales set out. We have also issued an action for the provider to take. The provider will be able to give parents further information about this.
p.1
Summary of outcome
• develop knowledge of how to support and manage children's behaviour to ensure strategies used are appropriate and meet children's individual needs
p.1
Summary of outcome
• improve knowledge of procedures to follow if physical intervention is used on a child, including maintaining a full record of such interventions and sharing information with parents and/or carers
p.1
Summary of outcome
• ensure any learning and development needs are promptly addressed with parents and/or carers, and any relevant professionals, to help support children's progress. On 14 March 2025, we carried out a regulatory telephone call. The focus of the call was to check whether the provider had met the safeguarding and welfare and learning and development actions, raised at the last visit. The provider has improved their knowledge of appropriate strategies to use when managing children's behaviour. She now understands to keep a record, and to inform parents, of any physical interventions used on a child. The childminder is accessing training on special educational needs and/or disabilities as she works to improve her knowledge and skills in this area. She is now more aware of the importance of promptly exchanging information with parents and other professionals, to ensure children's needs are met and their progress supported.
p.1
Summary of outcome
The provider is still registered with Ofsted.
