p.1

The provision is outstanding

The childminder provides exceptional care and education for children. She has a clear and concise focus for what she wants children to learn. Drawing on her many years experience working with children, the childminder provides reliable and tried and tested activities that support children in rapidly moving forward in their development. The childminder successfully weaves mathematical learning into children's play. For example, children play board games where they count, use simple addition and subtraction and work out that dots on the dice represent moves on the playing board. This increases children's understanding of how to use counting for purpose and encourages them to recognise when one group of items is larger or smaller than another by sight. Children develop a real love of books and delight in snuggling up with the childminder to read their favourite stories. Children are making superb progress in all aspects of their development, by far exceeding
