Inspection report for supported accommodation provider - monitoring visit: A G Semi-Independent Accommodation 1 A G Semi-Independent Accommodation

p.1

Registered provider: A G Supply Solutions Ltd

p.1

Inspected under the social care common inspection framework

p.1

provider

The service is owned and managed by a private provider. The service can accommodate up to two children living in one shared premises that is not limited to looked-after children and care leavers.

p.1

provider

The service manager, who is also the nominated individual, has been registered with Ofsted since September 2024.

p.1

This monitoring visit

On 20 December 2024, Ofsted carried out a monitoring visit in response to concerns raised by the child’s placing authority. This was the only child being accommodated at the tie of the visit. The concerns were about the provider’s ability to provide effective support that keeps the child and others safe. Following the visit, a notice restricting accommodation, to prevent new admissions, was issued.

p.1

This monitoring visit

The purpose of this visit was to monitor compliance with the notice restricting accommodation, and to measure progress in relation to the four requirements made at the last visit, all of which have been restated.

p.1

This monitoring visit

Prior to, and since, the last visit, the local authority has been providing additional support for the child. This includes extra staffing and increased oversight while a more suitable placement is found for the child.

p.1

This monitoring visit

There continues to be a significant lack of leadership and management oversight. For example, the service manager has failed to ensure that staff provided by the Inspection report for supported accommodation provider - monitoring visit: A G Semi-Independent Accommodation 2 placing authority have had any form of induction or supervision. This means that the manager has not assured herself that staff have the necessary skills to work in her service and support the child. In addition, permanent staff do not receive regular good-quality supervision.

p.1

This monitoring visit

Oversight of the child’s support plans and risk management plans and their implementation continues to be extremely weak. The manager has not ensured that these documents fully capture the child’s known and emerging needs, risks and behaviours. This means staff do not always have the information they need to provide effective support for the child. As a result, there is no coordinated approach to supporting the child or meeting their needs.

p.2

This monitoring visit

There has been an increased effort to carry out focused work that helps the child understand and reduce their risk-taking behaviour. However, this is not yet embedded in practice and has not resulted in any reduction in behaviours of concern, such as going missing from home.

p.2

This monitoring visit

The manager is yet to successfully implement a system for informing Ofsted when serious incidents occur. There has been one such incident since the last visit.

p.2

This monitoring visit

The arrangements for maintaining private and confidential records securely in the home will be reviewed at the next visit.

p.2

This monitoring visit

The manager has not admitted any children to the service since the notice restricting accommodation was served. However, the absence of good leadership and management and lack of progress mean that this restriction remains in place. In addition, two compliance notices have been served.
