Findings from the inspection
Children receive good care from supportive staff. Safe recruitment processes help to ensure that only suitable people are employed to work at the home. Staff receive ongoing training, supervision and support so that they develop the necessary skills and knowledge to look after children safely. Leaders and managers have introduced a system to understand why staff leave, so that they can put effective support in place to help workers remain in their roles. This ensures that children are supported by consistent staff.
p.3
Findings from the inspection
Detailed care plans and risk assessments help staff to understand children’s individual needs and provide appropriate support for them. Care plans and risk assessments are updated quickly when there are changes to children’s needs. Keeping this information up to date helps workers to care for the children safely and well.
p.3
Findings from the inspection
There is consistent leadership and management of the home. Leaders and managers provide effective oversight of the home, including ensuring that there are always enough suitably skilled staff on each shift to meet the needs of the children. Staff feel well supported and enabled to do their jobs well.
p.3
Findings from the inspection
Leaders and managers manage any concerns effectively, including allegations against members of staff. Leaders and managers keep detailed records of what they have done to deal with concerns. They appropriately share information with relevant external agencies, and they act with professionalism when they are asked to complete an investigation. They have put safeguards in place to ensure the integrity of any investigations in relation to anyone who is related to the managers. Staff are aware of this and other safeguarding and whistle-blowing policies and procedures.
