The provision is good
Children demonstrate that they are happy and secure at this unique and welcoming setting. They quickly settle into the daily routine. Relationships between staff and children are warm and nurturing. Children demonstrate curiosity and engagement as they explore the well-considered learning environment. Staff act as positive role models to children, which supports them to develop kindness and empathy. The robust key-person approach ensures that children form secure attachments. For example, they spend time playing with their key person and seek them out for reassurance when needed.
p.2
The provision is good
The implementation of the curriculum is embedded well. Staff have high expectations of children and aspire for them to achieve. Staff skilfully respond to children's ideas as they play and narrate what they are doing, which ignites children's communication and language. Children persevere in an activity to rescue the toy penguins from the ice blocks. Staff sensitively encourage them to test out their ideas to achieve their intended outcomes.

children's evolving language. This effective support they receive over time enables children to become effective communicators. This prepares children well for their future in education. n Staff complete accurate assessments of children's progress, such as the progress check at age two years. However, at times, the next steps planned for individual children's progress are not precise enough to build on what children need to do next to maximise their learning outcomes. n Children engage well in activities that are planned by staff. However, when children become distracted, staff do not consistently adapt their teaching style to support them to remain focused. This means that, occasionally, children do not benefit fully from the learning opportunities.
