p.1
Findings from the inspection
We did not identify any serious or widespread concerns in relation to the care or protection of children at this assurance inspection.
p.2
Findings from the inspection
Since the last inspection, one child has moved into the home. The manager was able to meet with the child before they moved in. This enabled relationships to start to form and information to be shared. The children living in the home have developed trusting relationships with staff.
p.2
Findings from the inspection
Staff support children’s relationships with their families, and work alongside family members and other services to ensure that children’s time spent with their family is safe. This provides children with a support network where they feel safe to maintain relationships with people who are important to them.
p.2
Findings from the inspection
The children are in good health. Staff support the children to attend health appointments. All appointments are up to date. The children are supported to improve their oral hygiene, with positive results. This support enables the children to achieve good health outcomes.
p.2
Findings from the inspection
Staff have a good understanding of the children’s experiences, which helps them to tailor their practice to meet the children’s needs. The children’s risk assessments are regularly updated and reviewed. Staff talk regularly with the children about any concerns and risky behaviours, which helps the children to understand how to keep themselves safe. Appropriate referrals are made to agencies to support the children.
p.2
Findings from the inspection
Staff understand how the work they do contributes towards increasing the children’s safety. Risk assessments are easy to follow and show how risks change over time. Staff are responsive to the changes in risks and work well with the children and external professionals to address areas of concern in a timely way.
p.2
Findings from the inspection
The home has a nurturing environment where the children’s views are acknowledged and understood. The children participate in direct-work sessions with the staff to explore and express their wishes, views and feelings.
p.2
Findings from the inspection
Quality assurance and monitoring systems have been reviewed and oversight of the home is much improved. Monitoring systems are embedded in practice and help managers to provide positive feedback as well as to identify areas for development.
p.2
Findings from the inspection
