Summary of outcome

All early years providers must meet the legal requirements in the 'Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage', which you can find at www.gov.uk/government/publications/early-years-foundation-stage-framework--2 If we find that a provider is not meeting the requirements, we can take action to ensure they put matters right.

p.1

Summary of outcome

On 4 December 2024, we carried out an inspection and found the childminder was not meeting some of these requirements. The overall effectiveness of the provision was judged to be inadequate. The inspection report sets out the actions the childminder was required to take to meet the requirements. Following the inspection, we served a welfare requirements notice. This is a legal notice that requires the childminder to take action within the timescales set out. The childminder will be able to give parents further information about this.

p.1

Summary of outcome

On 16 January 2025, we carried out a regulatory visit. The focus of the visit was to check whether the childminder had met the safeguarding and welfare actions raised at their previous inspection. During the visit, we identified that children may be at risk of harm. As a result, we suspended the childminder's registration on the same day. Suspension allows time for the childminder to take steps to reduce or eliminate the risk of harm to children. The childminder has a right to appeal against a suspension. The childminder may not provide childcare for which registration is required while the suspension is in place and may commit an offence if they do so.

p.1

Summary of outcome

On 27 January 2025, we visited the childminder and found that she has taken all reasonable steps to ensure that children are no longer at risk of harm. Therefore, we made the decision to lift the suspension. We also found that the childminder has met the safeguarding and welfare actions raised in the welfare requirements notice. The childminder has a safeguarding policy in place, this includes references to the safe use of mobile phones, cameras and other electronic devices. Through discussion the childminder demonstrates a secure knowledge and understanding of how to keep children safe online. Furthermore, the childminder demonstrates that she has systems in place to ensure that children are always adequately supervised, and that children are always within sight or hearing of her. The childminder has risk assessments in place, such as carrying out regular safety checks of the environment. Through discussion the childminder demonstrates that these risk assessments

now inform her practice. The childminder now ensures that her premises are organised in a way that promotes children's engagement in their learning. In addition, the childminder has implemented effective hygiene practices that promote children's good health.

p.1

Summary of outcome

The childminder is still registered with Ofsted.

p.2

Publication of compliance action

We aim to ensure that the welfare of children and young people is protected in the services we regulate. The Childcare Act 2006 and accompanying regulations set out our responsibilities to regulate childminders and childcare providers. This includes the enforcement powers we have in relation to those registered providers who do not comply with the requirements for registration.

p.2

Publication of compliance action

We publish details of any actions we take, or the childminder or childcare provider takes to bring about compliance with requirements on our website for a period of five years.
