The provision is outstanding
Children form excellent attachments to the childminder and thrive in the exceptional care provided. The childminder ensures that children have a sequence of settling-in sessions so that she can engage with parents to find out about the children's starting points in their development and care routines. This helps her to initially plan and provide children's experiences from home. Young toddlers who have recently commenced in the childminder's care are exceptionally calm on arrival and remain as such throughout their day with the childminder. The childminder is tuned into children's non-verbal and vocal signs that they present. She gives them cuddles, provides them with food and naps, and adapts to their changes in play superbly. This helps children feel welcome, safe and secure.

The provision is outstanding
All children have exceptional attitudes to learning. They arrive eager and quickly settle into a vast range of activities, which are set up throughout most of the childminder's home. They concentrate intently as they pat out the play dough to use their gingerbread cutters or use scissors with great skill to create shapes of their own with the dough. Young toddlers are keen to explore the ramps in the hallway to roll balls along and show great joy as they see the movements of the balls. Children persevere and observe demonstrations. The childminder shows them how to use the ramp and line up and race the cars. This helps children recognise colours and sequencing. Children's behaviour is impeccable for their ages and development. The childminder's superb support enables children to cope with challenges, such as when the children want the same toy.

n The childminder designs a superbly sequenced curriculum to develop and embed children's knowledge and skills. She expertly builds on what children know and can do. She is highly skilled and uses relevant guidance to track and assess children's development regularly. Her daily plans are unique for each child and include a rich range of learning experiences, not only in her home but in the local community too. n Children have lots of opportunities to build on their physical skills. The childminder incorporates these in the daily routines and planned and spontaneous activities. She supports safe risk taking too. For example, children learn to use ladders safely to climb to collect fruit from fruit trees. Young toddlers are guided well to climb up and down the stairs. This helps children to understand how to hold and skilfully use their bodies in different ways. n Children develop an early love of books. This is demonstrated as they access a

16 December 2024 supports children to develop an extensive vocabulary further through her skilful verbal engagement, generally, with the children. n Children recount their experiences in the local community as they look through the journals the childminder devises for them using photographs. Children spend long periods focused on the photos they see and can talk about what they have done in the community. For example, their visit to the farm, or their outdoor activities in the local community garden the childminder has helped create with other local childminders. These opportunities offer children highly stimulating outdoor learning experiences. n The childminder builds on children's interests with great regard, such as children's interests in the road works close to her home and the cranes within children's view. Children act out what they have seen in detail through the provision of play materials to extend their interests further. Young children can

be heard making the noise of machinery and vehicles in great detail. In addition, children learn to build cranes with the quality range of construction materials. n The wonderfully warm and nurturing environment helps children to express themselves and communicate their feelings. The childminder supports children's emotions effectively and understands the best approaches to use to identify and address the triggers to children's behaviour. She herself behaves exceptionally well to model respect and good behaviour. n Children's health and well-being are given high regard by the childminder. The children have a highly positive approach from a young age about personal hygiene and healthy eating. Children show high levels of skills in self-care, such as handwashing, selecting fruits of their choice, and participating in regular cooking activities. n The childminder has the highest expectations of herself, and she undertakes

training relevant for her and the children in her care. Furthermore, she explores relevant and informative childcare platforms to extend her knowledge further. She evaluates her provision regularly and welcomes the support of her local authority advisory team to identify any gaps. She is quick to address any such gaps and bring about further improvements. n The childminder strives to build and maintain strong partnerships with parents. She works extremely closely with the parents and has forged strong relationships to ensure the parents are included to be actively involved in their child's development. Parental feedback about the childminder at inspection was nothing but exceptional praise of the service their child and they receive. Parental feedback reflects from the time of their child settling, to ongoing strong two-way communication, and the extensive progress their child achieves while in the care of the childminder.
