No children have lived at the home since July 2023. The home was temporarily closed, with a condition imposed that required the provider to inform His Majesty’s Chief Inspector of their intention to admit children and young people three months before a child or young person commences living at the home. Notice of intention to reopen the home was given to Ofsted on 13 September 2024.

p.1

This monitoring visit

New staff have been safely recruited and come from within the organisation. Despite coming together as a new team, the staff already know each other and have built a rapport from working together in other homes in the organisation. The staff are suitably experienced.

p.1

This monitoring visit

Two of the four requirements raised at the previous inspection remain in place because it has not been possible to address these while the home has been closed. The manager has considered the challenges of this. A risk assessment is in place and the arrangement will remain under review. The organisation does not rely on agency workers, and has sufficient staff members working at neighbouring homes in the organisation who can support if needed.

p.1

This monitoring visit

The manager will divide his time accordingly between both homes and has good support from the responsible individual.
