p.1
Information about this children’s home
A new manager was appointed on 31 July 2024 and was successfully registered with Ofsted on 28 November 2024.
p.1
This monitoring visit
At the inspection on 2 and 3 September 2024, inspectors found serious and widespread shortfalls in safeguarding practice and in the leadership and management of the home. This led to an inadequate judgement. A notice restricting the provider from admitting any new children into the home was also issued and in place from 5 September 2024 until 28 November 2024. This monitoring visit looked at the additional progress that staff have made since the last visit.
p.1
This monitoring visit
There have been no physical interventions since the inspection in September, and the number of incidents has remained low. The inspector spent time with one child who discussed some of the activities that they have been taking part in with the staff team. The other child was at school during the time of the inspection.
p.1
This monitoring visit
The two children who live in the home are settled. One child attends a fulltime school. Leaders and managers are not actively advocating for the other child who remains out of school. However, staff are planning more enriching and engaging activities for children when they are not at school. Leaders and managers have a clearer plan in relation to positive social media and mobile phone use for children. Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2717528 2 The manager has begun to provide more oversight of the staff, and supervision is being provided on a regular basis, which has enhanced the morale and well-being of the team. Staff report feeling happier at work and that they are receiving better support with the new manager which has improved the overall feeling of the home.
