Findings from the inspection

Staff provide a positive environment where children have a voice in the running of their home. When any concerns are raised, these are responded to promptly. This helps children to build trusting relationships with staff.

p.3

Findings from the inspection

Staff actively promote and support children’s education. When there are barriers to learning, staff provide informal learning activities in the home. In addition, staff work closely with the schools to ensure that children receive the help that they need to continue with their learning. This gives children the opportunity to improve their educational outcomes.

p.3

Findings from the inspection

Children’s health needs are well promoted by staff. They are supported to attend medical appointments when necessary. This helps to ensure that children’s health is maintained.

p.3

Findings from the inspection

Since the last inspection, the registered manager has been committed to ensuring that children’s safety is prioritised. Staff prepare individualised risk assessments for children. These documents detail the steps for staff to take to protect children and to manage and reduce risks to children’s safety. This ensures that the staff are able to provide consistent care to children.

p.3

Findings from the inspection

The manager reviews significant events and incidents of concern. Physical intervention techniques have been used as a last resort to keep children safe. Following a physical intervention, the manager holds reflective discussions with the staff and children. This is a learning opportunity for everyone involved and helps to identify why the situation happened and how to improve things in the future.

p.3

Findings from the inspection

Leaders and managers respond effectively to allegations against staff and safeguarding concerns. When allegations are made against staff, these are investigated, and the local authority designated officer and the child’s social worker are informed. This coordinated approach ensures that children are safeguarded effectively.

p.3

Findings from the inspection

The manager uses a range of tools to monitor the quality of care provided by the service. For example, she carries out audits and daily observations of how staff support children. This approach helps to steer improvements in the home.

p.3

Findings from the inspection

Staff feel supported in their roles. They benefit from receiving regular team meetings and reflective supervision. Since the last inspection, staff have received relevant training that is specific to the needs of the children in the home. This ensures that staff are equipped to meet the needs of the children.
