The provision is good
The childminder places a high priority on giving children outdoor experiences in her curriculum. She uses these opportunities to sequence children's learning. For example, they visit places of natural beauty, such as national parks, and collect different leaves for their craft activities. The childminder is skilful at helping children make connections in their learning. For instance, she helps younger children develop their knowledge of colours as they mix paint. Children dab paintbrushes on their paper, exploring the different sensory resources. Older children use their fingers to sprinkle glitter on their pictures. This helps children develop the muscles in their hands that they need for early writing. All children make good progress in their learning and development.

The childminder gives children plenty of time and praise to succeed in daily routines. For instance, toddlers help find their shoes before outdoor play and put them on with little help. Older children confidently use a knife as they cut different fruits for their snack. This helps
