Summary of outcome

All early years providers must meet the legal requirements in the Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage, which you can find at www.gov.uk/government/publications/early-years-foundation-stage-framework--2. If we find that a provider is not meeting the requirements, we can take action to ensure they put matters right.

p.1

Summary of outcome

On 7 August 2024, the provider notified us about a safeguarding concern (Suitable People). The notification means that the provider met their legal responsibility as set out in the Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage to notify Ofsted of any significant event which is likely to affect the suitability of the childminder to look after children.

p.1

Summary of outcome

On 27 August 2024, we carried out a regulatory telephone call. We found the provider was not meeting some of the requirements. We served a welfare requirements notice. This is a legal notice that requires the provider to take the actions below within the timescales set out.

p.1

Summary of outcome

n ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed and understood, with particular regard to when an allegation is made about a household member

p.1

Summary of outcome

n provide Ofsted with the necessary information needed so that the required suitability checks can be carried out on household members.

p.1

Summary of outcome

We suspended the provider's registration on 3 September 2024 because we believe children may be at risk of harm. Suspension allows time for the provider to take steps to reduce or eliminate the risk of harm to children. The provider has a right to appeal against a suspension. The provider may not provide childcare for which registration is required while the suspension is in place and may commit an offence if they do so.

p.1

Summary of outcome

On 8 October 2024 we carried out a regulatory visit to monitor the suspension and welfare requirements notice. We found the provider to be complying with the suspension. We found that the provider had met one of the safeguarding and welfare actions but not the other. The provider has improved her understanding of the action to take if there are concerns raised about a household member. However, she has failed to provide Ofsted with the required information so that suitability checks can be carried out.

p.2

Summary of outcome

We served another welfare requirements notice. This is a legal notice that requires the provider to take the action below within the timescales set out.

p.2

Summary of outcome

n provide Ofsted with the necessary information needed so that the required suitability checks can be carried out on household members

p.2

Summary of outcome

On 11 November 2024 we carried out a regulatory visit to monitor the suspension and welfare requirements notice. We found that the provider has now provided Ofsted with the required information about household members and has improved her understanding of this requirement. The provider remains suspended.

p.2

Summary of outcome

The provider will be able to give parents further information about this. The provider is still registered with Ofsted.

p.2

Publication of compliance action

We aim to ensure that the welfare of children and young people is protected in the services we regulate. The Childcare Act 2006 and accompanying regulations set out our responsibilities to regulate childminders and childcare providers. This includes the enforcement powers we have in relation to those registered providers who do not comply with the requirements for registration.

p.2

Publication of compliance action

We publish details of any actions we take, or the childminder or childcare provider takes to bring about compliance with requirements on our website for a period of five years.
