They are positive, inquisitive and independent learners. The nurturing childminder creates fantastic opportunities for children to make their own choices about what they would like to explore next. One of the greatest attractions of this setting is the prospect for children to learn to ride a bike independently through exciting experiences that are scaffolded effectively. 16 October 2024 continuously engages them in meaningful conversations. She introduces new words to children and clearly explains their meaning to ensure that the new vocabulary is securely embedded. She also uses sign language to help children who need extra support. n Children greatly enjoy books and develop a passion for reading from a very early age. The knowledgeable childminder prompts children to sing to the narratives of their favourite stories to further develop their listening and attention skills. As children become immersed in the story, they observe the characters with fascination and proceed to making predictions. This further develops children's critical thinking and cognitive development. n The childminder provides fantastic opportunities for children to sing and dance to their favourite nursery rhymes. childminder uses a guitar to make the singing session more dynamic, and children use various musical instruments to shake and beat to the rhythm of the music. Children laugh and giggle with excitement as they pretend to be sleeping animals, then jump and hop with great levels of energy and enthusiasm. This helps children to strengthen their social interactions and express themselves creatively. n Children very much enjoy role play with their peers. The childminder sparks their interest by providing a great selection of props and resources, such as hats, glasses and jewellery. Children take an active role in their play, while the supportive childminder talks to them about what they are doing. She encourages them to think of other ideas to make the play more exciting. Furthermore, in the garden, the childminder encourages children to use real shovels to dig in mud to strengthen their arm muscles and develop their coordination.
