n The childminder has a secure understanding of the curriculum and how children learn. She recognises the importance of planning activities which promote children's speech and language development. For example, she plans to involve children in daily story times and singing. She intends to teach phonic skills, such as recognising rhythm, rhyme and producing clear speech sounds. This will help children to develop a secure foundation in early reading. n The childminder intends to provide children with a wide range of experiences which will support their physical development. For example, she plans to offer threading, play dough, chalk and mark-making tools so that children can develop their hand and finger muscles in preparation for early writing. n The childminder has a clear vision for children. She wants them to feel settled, happy and confident in her care. She understands the importance of praising

experiences of working with other professionals to support children's medical or developmental needs effectively. For example, she will contact health professionals and work closely with parents to get early support, where there are concerns or development delays.

p.2

This provision meets requirements

There were no children in the early years age range present when this inspection took place. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with those who care for the children and an inspection of the premises, equipment and relevant documentation. Where there are no early years children present, no judgement is made on the quality of the early years provision as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess its impact on children. The report states whether the provider continues to meet the requirements of registration.
