n There are gaps in the childminder's knowledge of the Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage (EYFS). As a result, not all of the safeguarding and welfare requirements are being met. The childminder is unclear about some child protection procedures, including the 'Prevent' duty and how to act if an allegation is made against herself or a member of the household. This affects her ability to keep children safe. In addition, she does not have an up-to-date written statement to explain her safeguarding procedures. This is a breach of the Childcare Register requirements. n The childminder has failed to inform Ofsted of a significant event, involving a change to those living in the household. This is an offence. The childminder has not provided Ofsted with information necessary to complete the required suitability checks on everyone in the household aged 16 years and over. This puts children at potential risk of harm and has been raised at a previous

inspection. The childminder does not have a clear understanding of significant events and changes that she must notify to Ofsted. n The childminder has completed mandatory paediatric first-aid training. However, she has not taken part in any further professional development opportunities to ensure she is up to date with current legislation and changes to the EYFS since her last inspection. This has resulted in a decline in her knowledge and it hinders her capability to fulfil her role. n The childminder knows how older children develop. However, she is not meeting the learning and development requirements of the EYFS. She has limited knowledge about the different ways in which younger children learn, or how to support them to make progress across the different areas of learning. The childminder cannot confidently explain how she would assess younger children or use information about what they already know, and can do, to plan for their

next steps in learning. Furthermore, she does not know about the required progress check at age two. Therefore, she is not able to put a curriculum in place for babies and toddlers that is suitable and challenging. n The childminder is aware of how she will promote children's healthy lifestyles. She understands about good nutrition and how to support some healthy habits. The childminder explains how she will provide children with opportunities to exercise and to enjoy fresh air. However, the childminder does not understand the need to comply with food hygiene and safety requirements. n The childminder recognises the importance of working in partnership with parents and of keeping them informed about their children's care. She will share information with them regularly.

8 October 2024 There were no children in the early years age range present when this inspection took place. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with those who care for the children and an inspection of the premises, equipment and relevant documentation. Where there are no early years children present, no judgement is made on the quality of the early years provision as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess its impact on children. The report states whether the provider continues to meet the requirements of registration.
