The provision is good

Children are happy with this warm and welcoming childminder. Babies confidently cruise round the furniture as they explore resources and choose books independently. The childminder is fully engaged with children. She nurtures their curiosity as she helps them to follow their own interests. The childminder uses children's interests to deliver a broad curriculum. Children make good progress in all areas of learning through activities, outings and the close support of the childminder. The childminder works closely with the local school and pre-school to ensure that children have smooth transitions.

need to do better?

24 September 2024 understand the skills their child will need when they progress to school. As a result, children are well prepared for their future learning. n The childminder has high expectations of behaviour, and children generally behave well. However, when younger children display unwanted behaviour, she does not always help them to understand what positive behaviour she expects. For example, when young children push each other, they are moved apart rather than learning to play together. This means that children's understanding of good behaviour is not consistently supported. n The childminder works effectively with parents. She establishes strong relationships that allow information to be shared effectively. She supports parents to continue their child's learning at home and gives them valuable guidance on a wide range of issues. The childminder communicates with parents throughout the day, and parents enjoy seeing children experience trips to the
