p.1
Findings from the inspection
We did not identify any serious or widespread concerns with the care or protection of children at this assurance inspection.
p.2
Findings from the inspection
Children continue to have trusted and secure relationships with staff. Staff are responsive to guidance from partners such as children and adolescent mental health services, and they consequently understand and meet children’s emotional and mental health needs. Staff seek opportunities to engage with children effectively, which promotes nurturing and calmness in the home. As a result, staff are proactive in their care for children.
p.2
Findings from the inspection
Children’s risks are identified and understood by the managers and the staff. Children’s risk assessments and guidance for staff are updated following an incident. Staff know how to respond and manage the risk effectively.
p.2
Findings from the inspection
Children are making good progress in education. When there are barriers to learning, staff work closely with the virtual school and education professionals to support the children to overcome these barriers. As a result, one child has recently started attending school full time after a significant period of absence.
p.2
Findings from the inspection
Children know how to make a complaint. When children do complain, this is taken seriously. The manager investigates the complaints and addresses any identified actions thoroughly.
p.2
Findings from the inspection
Staff hold children as a last resort to promote the safety of children and others. Staff are fully trained in the use of holds, and incidents are thoroughly documented. Children and staff are fully involved in the discussion around the prevention of further incidents.
p.2
Findings from the inspection
Staff support children to spend time with their families and other people who are important to them. Family time arrangements are carefully considered in line with the children’s wishes and their care plans. This helps the children to spend time with people who are significant in their lives and supports the children’s understanding of their identity.
p.2
Findings from the inspection
The manager ensures that staff have the necessary skills and knowledge to care for children effectively. Staff benefit from ongoing training, which helps them gain a better understanding and knowledge of their roles and responsibilities as well as children’s needs. This helps to continually improve the standard of practice and drive positive outcomes for children.
p.2
Findings from the inspection
The manager uses monitoring tools effectively to track the children’s progress and home development. They welcome external scrutiny from a range of independent professionals. Where there are areas of improvement identified, the manager responds to any recommendations made promptly. Assurance inspection report for children’s home: 2569358 3 Since the last inspection, safeguarding incidents have been appropriately notified to the regulator without delay. This allows Ofsted to review the incidents and take appropriate steps to ensure the safety and well-being of children living in this home.
p.2
