This monitoring visit
An allegation made against one of the directors for a non-work-related matter has been substantiated. The responsible individual has informed relevant professionals and assessed the risks. She has made immediate changes to the management arrangements to ensure that the children are safeguarded, and their well-being is promoted. The director is no longer involved in the day-to-day running of the home. She no longer visits the home and has no contact with the children living in the home.
p.1
This monitoring visit
The director has withdrawn her application to be the registered manager. A new interim manager is now in post and has applied to register with Ofsted. The manager is visible in the home and is assisted by a deputy manager. The manager understands the quality of care that children receive and takes decisive action to address shortfalls in staff practice. This helps staff to understand what is expected of them. Staff enjoy working in this home and feel supported by the manager. Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2704313 2 The manager works in partnership with social workers and partner agencies to ensure that children’s needs are met. Children are happy living in this home. Staff work hard to build relationships with children, which provides the foundation for children to flourish.
p.1
This monitoring visit
Fire risks are not assessed to include all known information. Actions identified in the fire risk assessment to reduce the fire risks have not been carried out. Staff who are new to the home are not always included in a fire drill. This does not provide assurances that staff understand how to leave the home safely in the event of a fire.
p.2
This monitoring visit
The requirement previously issued under Regulation 13 (the leadership and management standard) was not reviewed during this visit. For this reason, it is restated.
