This provision meets requirements

Children are warmly welcomed into this home-from-home environment. The childminder ensures that strong routines are embedded. For example, children routinely take off their shoes, hang up their coats and wash their hands on arrival. This supports children's independence. Children know what is expected of them and quickly feel safe and comfortable in their environment.

This provision meets requirements

The childminder provides a wealth of engaging resources. This enables children to make independent choices about what they want to do, based on their interests. For example, some children build with construction bricks, while others build paper aeroplanes or play board games. The childminder actively listens to the children and shows them respect. Children in turn show kindness and respect towards each other. For instance, older children help younger children understand the rules of a board game.

Children have regular access to fresh air and exercise. When walking back from school, the childminder teaches the children about road safety. They also visit the local park. Children access the large garden, where they play games, observe the fish in the pond and can learn about the different vegetables growing in the vegetable patch. This supports children to be safe and healthy.

23 September 2024 celebrations. This helps develop children's understanding of modern Britain. n The childminder supports and supervises her assistants appropriately. They have a good understanding of their roles and responsibilities. In a small number of instances where assistants are less experienced, the childminder steps in and models how to engage and deal with situations more effectively. This helps to develop the assistants' skills and provide a more consistent approach to dealing with children's behaviour. n Parents speak highly of the care the childminder provides, saying children 'learn life skills and thrive'. The childminder provides regular feedback and updates on the children. She invites children and their parents to stay and play while gathering information to support new children with their transition. This means that children become familiar with the setting and the childminder, helping them

to quickly settle. n The childminder ensures that all mandatory training, such as paediatric first-aid and safeguarding is completed by all assistants.
