This monitoring visit
On 23 July 2024, Ofsted issued a suspension notice to keep children living in the home safe. This was because leaders had failed to ensure that children always receive their care from suitable adults. A visit to the provider’s other children’s home took place on 30 July 2024 to fully review staff recruitment practices across the organisation. As a result, the suspension notice was lifted, and a notice restricting accommodation was issued on 31 July 2024.
p.1
This monitoring visit
The purpose of this visit was to ensure that leaders have taken sufficient action since 31 July 2024 to safeguard children and to check that the leadership and management arrangements are sufficient.
p.1
This monitoring visit
Leaders have taken responsive action to ensure that staff are recruited safely in line with regulatory requirements. All staff working in the home are suitable to work with children. New processes and robust checks are in place. Leaders and senior staff members have completed safer recruitment training to help them make safer recruitment decisions in the future to protect children. In addition, support and guidance are available from an external consultancy service to further strengthen safer recruitment practice. This shows that lessons have been learned and the risk of children receiving their care from unsafe adults has reduced. Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2774066 2 Staff recruitment records are more organised and include information to demonstrate that all the required recruitment checks have been carried out before staff work with children.
p.1
This monitoring visit

Clear plans ensure that the improvement action plan is met to benefit any new children who move into the home.
