The provision is outstanding
The childminder is very loving and caring and creates a joyful atmosphere. This helps children, who are two years old, to feel happy and safe. Children develop high levels of confidence and emotional security. They are securely attached to the childminder and are exceptionally familiar with highly effective daily routines. For example, children jump up and down with great excitement as the childminder sets out a singing activity using props and musical instruments. The childminder plans this activity to build on children's essential early language skills, which is something she gives the utmost priority to. Children demonstrate excellent behaviour, especially given their young age. The childminder supports this key stage of development superbly through an extremely positive approach. She prepares children emotionally for changes in the daily routine, such as tidy-up time. For example, she uses visual aids, such as a sand timer, and sings fun and jolly songs.
p.2
The provision is outstanding
The passionate childminder demonstrates first-rate teaching, which is guided by her qualification and extensive continued professional development. She plans a limitless, challenging and rich curriculum. This ignites and nurtures children's thirst for learning and inquisitive nature. The childminder helps children to make rapid progress in readiness for future learning, including those in receipt of additional funding. For example, when the childminder encourages children to explore water, they show great concentration and a fascination in how things work, such as a miniature simple water lock. They watch and wait with great anticipation to catch the water as it seeps through the opening and through the funnel.

She takes excellent account of the presentation of the learning environment, how children learn and their next steps in development and interests. For example, the childminder provides expansive activities and resources that are aimed at supporting young children's essential motor skills. n The childminder plans a wealth of outings that enrich children's experiences, socialisation and understanding of the world. Children go to toddler groups and take part in community events. They visit the farm, zoo and museums that capture the historical journey of firefighting and trains. The childminder also takes children to meet firefighters and police officers within the local community. n The childminder enhances children's fun and enjoyment through her highly motivating interactions. For example, she models how to play large musical chimes and to create a handprint with paint. The childminder shows children

how to use a back-and-forth motion to create a pattern with the textured roller. This prepares children for rolling dough, once they have developed greater small-muscle strength and the ability to apply the necessary pressure.

10 September 2024 n The childminder fosters children's love of books and stories exceptionally well to support their early language and future literacy skills. She makes books that are readily available and plans activities that help children to remember favourite stories, such as those about a witch, a bear and a caterpillar. For example, children go on story trails, and they observe the life cycle of the butterfly. n The childminder excitingly narrates as children play and during care routines, such as the healthy mealtimes. She also sensitively models words correctly to further support children's rapidly developing speech. The childminder sings and models actions as children explore the sounds of the tambourine, drums and xylophone. n The childminder models and instils important social skills to the highest level. This is reflected in children's spontaneous use of good manners and interactions. They thrive on the childminder's positive language and develop high levels of

self-esteem and confidence. For example, the childminder uses words such as 'wow' and 'amazing'. She tells children how clever they are and what a 'super' job they are doing. n The childminder works in excellent consultation with parents to settle children in and continuously shares children's achievements. She inspires parents to support children's learning at home, such as through activity packs and sharing library books and resources that are linked to children's next steps in their learning and interests. n The childminder establishes excellent partnerships with other settings to support four-year-old children's recent move on to nursery school and school and their continued learning. n Children experience rich opportunities to learn about everyone's differences.
