This provision does not meet requirements
n Self-evaluation is poor. The childminder does not undertake effective risk assessment of the premises to ensure that the designated space she intends to use to provide care is suitable. For example, there are large broken storage boxes with sharp edges and several plastic carrier bags containing a range of materials. This poses a risk to children. n The childminder does not demonstrate an understanding of the requirement to hold and maintain children's information. She does not record children's names, addresses, parent/carer details and emergency contact numbers. Furthermore, she does not keep a daily record of children's names being cared for on the premises together with their hours of attendance. Additionally, the childminder does not demonstrate how she intends to keep children's records in a confidential and secure manner. n The childminder talks about how she intends to provide children with an

inclusive curriculum that builds on what they know and can do. She understands how to monitor and assess children's development and where to seek additional support should she identify concerns about their progress. n The childminder has a good understanding of how to manage children's behaviour. She understands that some behaviours are linked to children's development and their ability to develop self-regulation. The childminder provides examples of how she intends to help children understand boundaries and manage their emotions. n The childminder has secure knowledge of child protection issues. She is able to identify the possible signs of abuse and neglect and knows how to report any concerns that she may have about a child. n The childminder demonstrates basic knowledge of how to respond if a child sustains an accident and injury. However, she is not qualified to administer first aid because she does not hold a full and relevant paediatric first-aid qualification.

n The childminder understands the importance of working in partnership with parents. For example, she plans to use daily diaries to exchange information with parents about their children's day, to help her plan activities that meet children's care and learning needs.

This provision does not meet requirements
There were no children in the early years age range present when this inspection took place. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with those who care for the children and an inspection of the premises, equipment and relevant documentation. Where there are no early years children present, no judgement is made on the quality of the early years provision as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess its impact on children. The report states whether the provider continues to meet the requirements of registration.
