The childminder provides a warm and welcoming, home-from-home environment and effectively supports children to settle in. He quickly establishes close and secure relationships with the children and their families. Children develop strong emotional attachments with the childminder. This helps them to feel secure and confident to express their ideas and feelings. The childminder is very attentive to children's needs and is always close by to offer reassurance and cuddles when needed.

The childminder effectively follows children's lead in play and plans activities that interest and excite them. For instance, children interested in the farm, enjoy playing with animals. They confidently name them and make the animal sounds. The childminder plays alongside them and is a good role model for communication. He talks slowly and clearly, describing what children are doing and introduces new words and ideas for young children to repeat. Children's language skills are very strong and they confidently express themselves.
p.2
The provision is good
Children behave well and enjoy the company of others. They play cooperatively and the childminder encourages children to share and take turns. For example, during the inspection, children were keen to share their dolls with the inspector and show them what they were doing.
