The provision is outstanding
All children thrive in this incredibly warm and welcoming setting. The childminder has an excellent understanding of the learning intentions for children's activities. She knows the children as unique individuals and provides exceptional support to meet their needs. The childminder provides skilful teaching and weaves this in as part of children's daily routines and activities. She provides a language-rich environment and builds on children's mathematical skills seamlessly during different activities. This approach helps children to practise and embed their knowledge and skills extremely well. All children make rapid progress from their starting points, including those who may need some extra help.
p.2
The provision is outstanding
The childminder and her co-childminder provide an inspiring range of learning experiences, which promote children's curiosity extremely well. For example, children explored a light-box table and other sensory resources, observing how they changed colour or shape. Young children become exceptionally independent. For example, they know to hang up dressing-up clothes and they put these back onto hangers.
p.2
The provision is outstanding
The childminders plan activities that help children to develop exceptional concentration. Children very confidently initiate their own learning. For instance, a child asked for a particularly challenging activity that had recently been introduced by the childminders. This involved them 'pinching' pegs to give and take a card from each other and included using polite greetings. This enhanced children's patience as they waited for their turn and promoted respect for each other along with strengthening their hand muscles.

She uses her observations and assessments highly effectively to check that children have embedded new knowledge and skills. She identifies very specific next steps in learning to help children progress, such as particular sounds of letters to teach children to support their speech development. n The childminder engages children in consistently high-quality interactions. She poses questions to children skilfully to enhance their thinking skills and responses. This helps young children to use a wide range of vocabulary and communicate with ease. They frequently sing songs and read books, including in different places such as the woods. Children take part in follow-up activities, which help them recall stories, such as finding sticks to make their own 'stick man'. n Children practise and continually build on their skills, knowledge and

For example, children explored numbers, including the order of these, through a variety of activities. They gained awareness of how numbers are subtracted through reading a book. They identified and recognised numbers in sand and dough. Even the youngest children demonstrated their confident knowledge of counting and recognition of numbers. n The childminder supports children's behaviour exceptionally well. She provides highly sensitive support for children's emotional well-being, exploring and acknowledging their feelings with reassurance. Children's behaviour is excellent. They have an extremely good awareness of the behaviour expectations, such as commenting that 'it is nice to take turns'. They explained the potential consequences of behaviours, recognising that they might hurt themselves or others if they run indoors.

A vast range of outings, including nature walks and visits to wildlife parks, help children to learn about the natural world. n The childminder is highly committed to her role. She completes an exceptional range of training to continually extend her skills. This includes gaining an early years degree since her last inspection. She uses ideas from training to further improve the quality of children's learning experiences. The childminder and her co-childminder constantly reflect and evaluate their provision and the effectiveness of their practice. This helps them to continuously improve their
