p.1

This provision does not meet requirements

n The provider has failed to take action to improve since the last inspection. As a result, there remain several breaches of the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage, which compromise children's safety. n Staff have a poor understanding of safeguarding. The provider has failed to ensure that learning has been well understood and embedded. This means staff do not know how to report any child protection concerns and do not recognise allegations against adults, which puts children at risk of further harm. n The arrangements for staff supervision and support are not effective. The provider has not identified areas for staff development, which means staff have a poor understanding of their roles and responsibilities. Staff do not have opportunities to have confidential conversations about sensitive issues, which impacts on how well staff can meet children's needs. n The provider has taken steps to ensure some staff have paediatric first-aid

training. However, at times, older children are collected from school and walked to the setting by adults who have not completed this training. This compromises children's safety in the event of an injury or illness. n Children's attendance is not recorded, which is a breach of requirements. This puts children at risk in the event of an emergency evacuation. n The provider described suitable expectations for children's behaviour, such as learning to be patient and to take turns with resources. This teaches children to regulate their own behaviour. n The provider explained how she promotes children's good health. For example, children are offered healthy snacks and are encouraged to be physically active in the park. Children learn to wash their hands before meals, which helps them learn to keep themselves safe. n The provider gave examples of the types of activities children take part in at the setting, such as art and craft and basketball. Children make gifts to celebrate

cultural occasions, such as Mother's Day.

p.2

This provision does not meet requirements

There were no children in the early years age range present when this inspection took place. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with those who care for the children and an inspection of the premises, equipment and relevant documentation. Where there are no early years children present, no judgement is made on the quality of the early years provision as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess its impact on children. The report states whether the provider continues to meet the requirements of registration.
