Summary of outcome

All early years providers must meet the legal requirements in the Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage, which you can find at www.gov.uk/government/publications/early-years-foundation-stage-framework--2. If we find that a provider is not meeting the requirements, we can take action to ensure they put matters right.

p.1

Summary of outcome

On 11 June 2024, we received concerns that the provider was not meeting some of these requirements.

p.1

Summary of outcome

On 24 June 2024, we carried out a regulatory visit. We found the provider was not meeting some of the requirements. We have served a welfare requirements notice. This is a legal notice that requires the provider to take the actions below within the timescales set out. The provider will be able to give parents further information about this.

p.1

Summary of outcome

We suspended the provider's registration on 24 June 2024 because we believe children may be at risk of harm. Suspension allows time for the provider to take steps to reduce or eliminate the risk of harm to children. The provider has a right to appeal against a suspension. The provider may not provide childcare for which registration is required while the suspension is in place and may commit an offence if they do so. On 9 July 2024, we found the provider had met some of the safeguarding and welfare actions but not others.

p.1

Summary of outcome

We found that the provider had improved the cleanliness and safety of the premises. She had decluttered household items to reduce the risk of accident and injury to children. She had established hygienic routines such as the daily cleaning of work surfaces, removal of waste from bins and regular hoovering of floor coverings. The childminder demonstrated that she can now provide hygienic changing facilities for children in nappies and keep a daily record of the names and hours of attendance for children being cared for. At the visit we found that all risks identified previously had been removed. However, the childminder did not demonstrate an appropriate understanding of how to identify, minimise, and remove risks to children without the guidance from others.

p.2

Summary of outcome

We have served another welfare requirements notice. This is a legal notice that requires the provider to take the actions below within the timescales set out.

p.2

Summary of outcome

ensure that all reasonable steps are taken to minimise any risks to children.

p.2

Summary of outcome

We will monitor the provider's response to ensure the action is successfully completed.

p.2

Summary of outcome

On 10 July 2024, we lifted the suspension because the provider took appropriate action to deal with the matter that led to the suspension. We are satisfied that the identified risk of harm to children has been removed.

p.2

Summary of outcome

On 9 August, we carried out a regulatory visit. The focus of the visit was to check whether the provider had met the safeguarding and welfare actions raised at their last visit.

p.2

Summary of outcome

We found that the provider had taken steps to minimise risks to children and now understands her responsibility to identify and manage risks to ensure the safety of all children. For instance, the provider had improved the storage of potentially hazardous items and substances.

p.2

Summary of outcome

The provider will be able to give parents further information about this. The provider is still registered with Ofsted.

p.2

Publication of complaints

We publish details of complaints made against childminders, home childcarers and childcare providers where we or the provider have taken action in order to meet legal requirements. We publish details of complaints on our website for a period of five years.
