Children are very happy and settled in the childminder and her assistants' care. They benefit from a familiar daily routine, which they know and understand. The childminder supports children to understand what happens next, which helps them to feel secure. Children form very strong bonds with the childminder and her assistants. They establish excellent relationships with their peers and know which of their friends attend on different days. The childminder has high expectations for children's learning and behaviour. The provision is outstanding

Staff are terrific role models, who ensure a fun and nurturing environment for children at all times. They also ensure that children's care needs are a priority within the setting. Children are motivated by the very stimulating and welcoming environment. As a result, they have an excellent attitude. They arrive at the setting excited and ready to learn. There is a lot of excitement and fun throughout the day. For example, children shriek with laughter and giggle when the pipettes they use make a funny sound when squeezed. The childminder and her assistants know children extremely well. This enables them to expertly build on what children already know and can do, and plan for each child's next steps for learning. They constantly share information with parents about what children need to learn next to extend their learning at home.

n The childminder and her assistants consistently and very effectively assess and evaluate children's learning and interests. They use the information they gain expertly to plan an interesting and challenging curriculum that includes all areas of learning. n The childminder is very skilled at including as many areas of learning as possible in each activity. For example, when children are involved in a craft activity around colour mixing, she develops children's language and mathematical skills. She also thoughtfully encourages children to make predictions and solve problems. n The childminder embeds new learning and also builds on what children know and can do. She changes activities so that children can predict what may happen if things are done differently. For example, children learn that when they allow water to run from a higher angle, it flows faster. n The childminder supports lots of early mathematical language. For example,
