p.1
The provision is good
The childminder creates a warm, homely environment where children are safe, secure and happy. She establishes strong relationships with children in her care. Children regularly seek her out for a cuddle to check in while playing and snuggle up on her knees to enjoy a story before lunch. The childminder is attentive to the needs of children, recognising when they are hungry or tired and responds promptly to ensure they receive the sensitive care they need.
p.2
The provision is good
The childminder has developed an ambitious curriculum for children that sees them busily engaged in their learning. Children show sustained focus during tasks, concentrating intently to complete what they are doing. The childminder has high expectations of children and as such, the behaviour of children is good. She listens to the voices of children, giving them choices over what they would like to do next, which colour cutlery they would like or what materials they would like during arts and crafts activities. Children build skills of independence.
p.2
The provision is good
The childminder provides children with lots of praise and encouragement and as such, children become active problem solvers. The childminder gives children opportunity to try trickier tasks by themselves before intervening to support to help develop confidence and resilience.

The childminder ensures she plays alongside children, supporting them to be physically active and achieve their next milestones. n Overall, the curriculum for communication and language is well designed. The childminder ensures that children hear a variety of language through the day, in narrative, through stories and rhyme and discussion at mealtimes. Children are beginning to develop wide vocabularies that are beginning to allow them to
