This provision meets requirements
n The oversight and leadership of the out-of-school club has improved since the last inspection. Information about staff's suitability and how it is checked is now in place. Leaders demonstrate knowledge of safe recruitment and induction procedures. All members of the committee have provided Ofsted with the information to enable the required suitability checks to be concluded. This promotes children's welfare. n The current committee has relevant experience and knowledge. Members support managers effectively and they have revised the club's policies and procedures. The club and the school operate under separate Ofsted registrations. All policies, including those for administering medication to children during club sessions, now reflect this. This promotes children's health and safety. n Managers and staff know and understand the club's safeguarding policy. They know what to do if an allegation is made against a member of the team. Mobile
p.2
This provision meets requirements
phones and other technology are used safely at the club, because managers and staff follow clear, well-considered procedures. Every member of the team knows how to share information and to seek advice if they consider that a child may be at risk of abuse. This helps everyone to protect children from harm. n Staff show that they like working at the club. Their care, enthusiasm and teamwork help to make it a happy place for children to relax and play. Children choose freely from familiar books, toys and activities. Staff ask for children's ideas about new games and resources. n Staff model and promote positive relationships. Children chat companionably as they draw well-observed portraits of each other. When children play popular card games, their conversation is lively and competitive. The games teach children to think strategically. Children learn to win and lose in a friendly way. This promotes their emotional resilience.
p.2
This provision meets requirements
n The club's routines are clear and consistent. Children feel secure and they develop self-control. Children develop habits that promote a balanced diet. For example, they choose two items of food at snack time. This means that children learn to satisfy their appetite, without over eating between meals. n Children play outdoors. They get out of breath and this improves their stamina and fitness. Children practise their climbing skills. Their careful progress along the climbing frame promotes their strength and balance. Their effort and success promote children's self-esteem and confidence.
p.2
This provision meets requirements
There were no children in the early years age range present when this inspection took place. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with those who care for the children and an inspection of the premises, equipment and relevant documentation. Where there are no early years children present, no judgement is made on the quality of the early years provision as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess its impact on children. The report states whether the provider continues to meet the requirements of registration.
